Activities were coordinated with Curator Mike Thornton of the New England Air Museum.
The Doc Wick Foundation is delighted to present a large collection of Hamilton Standard Space Program artifacts to the New England Air Museum. The donation includes:
- Space suits
- Archival material
- Photos
- Equipment (various types from the space program)
- Molds of equipment
- Books
- Patches
- Pop-culture space related items.
Provenance: Dr. Wiechetek (Doc for short) was Medical Director of the aerospace division of Hamilton Standard (now United Technologies/Raytheon) for over 20 years. In that time he gathered a fantastic collection of artwork & artifacts that capture a history of United Technologies involvement with NASA in space exploration. The items in this donation came directly from the Estate to the Foundation and have been donated to the New England Air Museum having not been thoroughly documented or itemized.
Installation: It is the Foundation’s understanding that the New England Air Museum will install some or all of these items into a collection for display in 2026. The Foundation stands ready to help fund any restoration work that may be required.
